More than a viewpoint

Brama w Gorce is a nature and education centre, with an elevated trail of around 1,300 metres, observation towers, an education pavilion and an underground tunnel. There is more to a visit than a photograph from the top. Give yourselves time to notice what is around you, especially when travelling with children. A short walk, a discovery and a break can work better than trying to fit in every extra activity. Choose the parts that interest your group rather than treating the visit as a checklist.

Choose your approach before you set off

The Kościelna car park in Waksmund is around 4 km from the centre, with a tourist road train or minibus for the onward journey. From the Długa Polana side, parking can be combined with a woodland walk: the operator gives roughly 1–1.5 km, depending on the car park and approach. There is also a small car park beside the attraction, subject to space and current access arrangements. Do not rely on finding a place there on a busy day.

Tickets: check what is included

When checked on 17 October 2026, Standard adult admission was PLN 69 online or PLN 75 at the ticket office; reduced admission was PLN 55 or PLN 60. Under-threes also needed a ticket, priced at PLN 10 for this option. Family and enhanced tickets were available too. Compare the activities included before deciding which suits you. These are dated reference prices, not an offer from Silverton or a promise of the price on your travel date.

Pushchairs, younger visitors and the weather

The operator describes most of the centre as accessible with a pushchair, but the towers involve stairs. Decide whether everyone wants to climb or whether part of your group will stay below. Access within the centre does not tell you what the woodland approach from a particular car park will be like. Contact the team about suitable arrival arrangements if mobility is a concern. Indoor educational areas offer a change of pace, but the whole outing is not under cover. Pack a layer for wind and rain.

What does the walk from Silverton actually reach?

Our Google Maps check showed 14.7 km and around 3 hours 15 minutes to the Kościelna car park. That is the transfer point, not the entrance to Brama w Gorce. A separate route to the centre was 18.6 km and around 4 hours 19 minutes each way. The walking option below therefore ends at the start point; onward transport or a further walk must be planned separately. Check the road sections before choosing this long approach. For a relaxed family outing, driving followed by a local walk is easier to organise.

A day that leaves room to enjoy it

Our suggestion is one main attraction, a proper break and an unhurried return to Białka. Choose the car park first, then the ticket and the parts of the centre you want to explore. Driving time does not include waiting for a transfer, getting from the car to the entrance or visiting the exhibitions. Check the last admission time as well as closing time. If using a partner transfer, establish where the return service leaves from and when it finishes before the group becomes tired.

A suggested day plan

  1. Check the weather, admission arrangements and your chosen car park. Save directions and decide how you will return.
  2. Complete the transfer or walk from the car park to the entrance. The visit itself starts after this approach.
  3. Explore the treetop trail and the educational areas that interest you, with breaks suited to your group.
  4. Return to the car or transfer point before the transport you need finishes, then head back to Silverton.

Allow for the full return journey
